Our client wanted a clever combination of bold contemporary style and subtle traditional features in this spacious Shaker kitchen. The open-plan design creates a sense of flow and space whilst maintaining all the essentials of a modern-day kitchen, with crisp white hues and accents of vibrant colour.

This modern Shaker scheme is the ideal space for some design flair, by incorporating interesting individual touches such as a tiled appliance bank, herringbone tongue-and-groove detailing on the ceiling pitch, and octagonal painted shapes on the wood floor. A dramatic skylight installed above the island brings the kitchen to life, flooding the room beautifully with natural light. Also breaking up the open-plan design, the central island doubles as a cooking and entertaining area, complete with a built-in wine cabinet and colourful seating. What a unique touch supplied by the custom blue tiled unit to frame the appliances, which adds a dramatic dark contrast against the bright cabinetry.
