We're Built On Quality

We pride ourselves on the quality and durability of our cabinetry. Each of our cupboards is a fully hand-built piece of furniture, carefully and precisely constructed so that it offers unrivalled durability.

The secret of all of our kitchens is that they are built using traditional framed construction. We set our doors into hardwood frames and secure them with butt hinges, creating a wood-to-wood bond that ensures that they will never drop - no matter how much they are used.

We build all of our kitchens using traditional in-frame construction for ultimate durability

What’s more, each of our handmade kitchen cupboards is a fully handbuilt, rigid six-sided cube (with solid top and back) which is tongued and grooved, screwed and pressure-glued to maintain maximum rigidity. These techniques create immensely strong kitchens that will look beautiful and function perfectly for years to come.

All of our drawer boxes are solid oak and have traditional dovetail jointing at both the front and back for ultimate longevity, and each drawer box has soft-close runners as standard to ensure that it closes smoothly and silently every time. Dovetail jointing has been used in the production of high-quality furniture for many years, and has been proven to be the finest method for drawer construction.

These construction techniques mean that your kitchen cabinetry will look as good in 10 years as it does on the day it is installed. And, because our kitchens are handpainted, you can easily refresh your room with a colour change in the future, without the upheaval of having to replace the cabinetry. We use the same traditional joinery techniques in the production of our statement pieces - like our famous Pantry Larder and Breakfast Dresser. Having our own workshops in Cambridgeshire and Worcester and building our furniture to order means that we can individually tailor pieces by altering the sizing or the internal configuration so that they perfectly suit the requirements of their owner, creating a truly bespoke kitchen design.

You can see more about the construction methods we use by watching the video at the top of this page, but the best way to appreciate what we do is to visit one of our showrooms where you can sample the quality of our kitchens first-hand. You can find your nearest Harvey Jones showroom by using our showroom locator.
