The newly refurbished Cambridge kitchen showroom is open, and it’s bringing a bold new energy to one of the city’s most design-driven streets. Leading the transformation is Cambridge kitchen designer Hagar Hassan, whose vision has turned the space into a curated showcase of luxury kitchen design and quality British craftsmanship.
A Fresh Chapter for Cambridge’s ‘Kitchen Street’
Cambridge’s bustling kitchen district has long been home to some of the UK’s most recognised design names. Our Harvey Jones kitchen showroom sits at the heart of this hub, and as Hagar explains, it has recently undergone a thoughtful refresh.
“We wanted to bring warmth, character, and personality into the space.”
The redesigned Cambridge kitchen showroom makes the most of its wide, light-filled layout, with every inch carefully planned to inspire. Hagar explains her thinking behind the showroom’s design, saying, “We’re far from just traditional. The showroom proves we can be daring and modern.”

Designing a Modern Kitchen Showroom
Walking past the large front windows, visitors can see the working kitchen display glowing with layered rich tones and textures. Inside, it’s a tactile journey through bespoke kitchen design: from a dramatic 130mm-thick island worktop to a circular seating area made from textured stone, each display invites touch as much as admiration.
“We want the heart of the home to be connected throughout every space. So, your dining, your utilities, your boot rooms, it all forms a bigger picture,” Hagar explains, “we’re pushing the boundaries of not just kitchens.”
The space unfolds with the moody depth of a brown Hampton kitchen, a design that feels instantly grounded and elegant. Then comes what Hagar describes as “a cutesy little pink utility space,” a softer moment that adds charm and a touch of playfulness. The journey continues into a deep Mulberry-painted design lounge, a relaxed spot created for quiet conversations, creative thinking, and imagining how a home might take shape.

Wine and Whiskey Inspired Arbor Kitchen
Hagar’s beautiful Arbor display introduces a quieter, more indulgent kind of luxury, wrapped in the soft creamy tone of ‘Overcast’, inspired by “the feeling of a whiskey cigar style moodboard.” Tucked behind its modern exterior sits what Hagar calls “our wine and whiskey-esque larder,” a compact bar crafted for people who love entertaining but don’t have space for a dedicated setup.
“So, what we’ve done is incorporate a bar space without taking up too much room,” she explains. The pull-out surface is designed for preparing drinks, ideal for stirring an old fashioned or prepping cocktail garnishes. Folded neatly into the flow of this Arbor kitchen, “it’s an all-in-one cocktail, wine, whiskey area for all of your needs.”

How Did You Design the Kitchen Showroom?
Since joining Harvey Jones in 2021 as a kitchen designer, Hagar has designed bespoke kitchens across Cambridge, St Albans, London, and Milton Keynes. Her approach is rooted in understanding her clients’ lifestyles and their kitchen design choices.
“Cambridge homes are usually period properties, with a 1920s to 60s cottage feel,” Hagar explains. “Then, of course, further out, those properties change a little bit. So, you’ve got modern homes by the sea and countryside barn conversions.”
She drew inspiration from her clients and their homes around Cambridge to design a space where all visitors feel inspired.
“There’s always something to look forward to when you go into the Cambridge showroom.”
Experience a Luxury Kitchen in Real Life
The Cambridge showroom showcases a thoughtful mix of luxury kitchen appliances. The working kitchen features Fisher & Paykel’s latest ovens and an integrated wine cooler. Elsewhere, you’ll find an ILVE range cooker and stylish Smeg models.
Hagar has partnered with the Miele Experience Centre, which is just a three-minute walk away. Clients can explore the full range of Miele appliances in person.
“It’s great to show clients what’s available now and demonstrate how technology has changed.”

What Do You Recommend in the Local Area?
Hagar recommends starting your visit with a coffee from Café 24, the family‑run spot just a few doors down. “It’s tiny, friendly, and does matcha, frappuccinos, breakfast fry-ups, cakes, everything!” For lunch, Little Petra offers authentic Jordanian dishes just minutes away. If that’s not your style, “in any direction you go, you’re not walking more than two minutes before there’s a restaurant.”
While you’re in Cambridge, why not visit John Lewis to pick up a few homeware finds after your showroom visit? Or treat yourself to a new scented candle at Home County Co.
“It’s very well renowned for being a tourist hotspot, so there’s always something to do while visiting Harvey Jones Cambridge.”
Memorable Kitchen Moments
For Hagar, the Cambridge showroom represents more than just a refurbishment. It’s a statement about the future of luxury living and possibilities for clients designing new bespoke spaces in and around Cambridge.
Beyond her role as a luxury kitchen designer in Cambridge, she talks about her own passion for cooking and hosting. “One memory that sticks out for me is one time hosting Friends-mas; I decided to do a 12-course meal. I love cooking for my friends and family and really just being quite daring with it!” Her approach to bespoke kitchen design comes from lived experience.
“I feel like the kitchen is very much the heart of the home, not just for like our clients, but probably in a lot of our lives as well,” she says.
“Many memories are made there. I think it’s the one thing that really does unite a lot of families, you know, having those dinner times together, making memories together.”
