Meet the Client:
Our client was looking to create a family kitchen in their newly built forever home. The client was keen to minimise the environmental impact of their new kitchen, so the fact that they could repaint and restyle their Harvey Jones cabinetry in the future really appealed. The home is based near Bristol and the client wanted to create a kitchen that suited the property’s modern countryside aesthetic.
How It Looks:
The kitchen is close to the garden and the large patio doors enable indoor-outdoor living in this open-plan family space. By choosing light taupe for their delicately detailed Arbor cabinetry our designers allowed the standout splashback and decor accessories to really add personality. The use of dark pendants and recurrent hints of black help to create a Scandi edge in the space.
The stunning locally sourced splashback features dynamic veining, and the integrated shelf is the perfect place for accessories. Warmth is added to the space by the brass handles and Cloudburst quartz worktops which feel clean and bright. Together the kitchen feels serene and inviting with clean lines and organic wood adding to the Scandinavian feel.
How It Works:
The central island acts as a hub for dining, food prep and socialising, as well as a home for recipe books and crockery which add to the homely feel in the space. The pantry larder is positioned close to the hob and fridge to create a practical cook’s triangle. With deep pull-out drawers, ample shelving and a home for appliances the pantry larder is the perfect place to hide the clutter of family life. The kitchen anchors this spacious kitchen diner and the long patio doors and skylight ensure there is plenty of natural daylight in the space.
Personal touches:
From natural ceramics and handpicked paintings to our very own Smile Stools, the kitchen feels at once contemporary and timeless. There is plenty to draw the eye while the neutral colour scheme grounds the space allowing every element to have its moment.
